About the Director of Training
Rich Montez, Director of Training
A 23-year veteran in post-production and the son of a Hollywood film technician, Rich Montez began his career when colorists were known as telecine operators. During his career as a colorist, he has worked on features, sitcoms, and dailies in Hollywood and London. Before joining da Vinci, Rich was the first colorist to work for one of the largest digital intermediate facilities in Los Angeles.
"I consider myself very fortunate because I have a passion for film and images and have had the honor of working with many very talented artists," says Rich. "Now as the Director of Training for da Vinci Systems I get to share my knowledge and experience while I make new friends all over the world. I take pleasure in teaching others not only about da Vinci products but about the techniques,
responsibilities and ethics of being a good colorist."
