New for 2007
Resolve Conform Station
A time-saving, resource-maximizing solution for digital intermediate workflows. da Vinci's Conform Station takes the conforming, proxy generating, and QC processes out of the expensive DI suite. Now, with the Resolve Conform Station, these processes can be done in a far less expensive environment, at a fully integrated parallel workstation. For DI facilities working in high-resolution projects, the Resolve Conform Station can quickly generate lower resolution (proxy) files of unsurpassed quality using da Vinci’s exclusive Transformer technology.
Upgrades to 2K Plus
In 2007 da Vinci continues its standard of integrating the 2K Plus with other manufacturers' products. The da Vinci 2K Plus now supports 2048 x 1080 10-bit and 12-bit RGB projection standards used in today’s DI environments. In addition, the da Vinci 2K Plus now offers enhanced support for the latest Grass Valley Spirit 2K and Spirit 4K telecines and additional support for the Cintel Image Mill "Steady" image stabilization function.
Revival GNR
da Vinci has expanded its Revival family with Revival GNR — a specially packaged workstation loaded with tools exclusively for grain and noise reduction as well as integrated dust and dirt removal tools. Revival GNR can reside on the same network as da Vinci’s Resolve, accessing the same files on the SAN or local storage. This means that while the colorist is grading and marking areas for cleanup, the Revivalist can instantly access those areas and begin the cleanup process while grading continues, making the GNR workstation an ideal component of the DI workflow.

Splice
Splice creates a "virtual telecine" for the da Vinci 2K and da Vinci 2K Plus, offering users a bridge to a nonlinear workflow with pan, tilt, zoom, and rotate capabilities in real time. Splice blends key technologies from da Vinci's Resolve DI Mastering Suite to allow new and existing da Vinci 2K/2K Plus users to expand and leverage their equipment investment.
Powered by da Vinci’s exclusive Transformer image processing accelerator, which provides real-time sizing and rotation, Splice allows colorists to conform, transform, grade, arrange, and deliver images in any order, in real time, and at unsurpassed quality. Operating as a front end for the da Vinci 2K, Splice presents itself as a new device on the 2K control panel and provides operators with the types of controls one would normally only associate with a telecine environment.
In version 2.0, Splice adds a Program Record Function, allowing users to control Splice as a recorder while also controlling a telecine from the da Vinci 2K. Version 2.0 also offers powerful interactive drag-and-drop editing functionalities, letting users build timelines in any order desired. A new Ingest Mode allows for the capturing of material directly from a telecine without an external controller.
